Warther Tours presents:
A Pittsburgh Holiday Celebration
December 6th, 2018
Join Warther Tours as we celebrate the Holiday Season in Pittsburgh. On Thursday, December 6, 2018, enjoy some Holiday music as we ride over to Pittsburgh, PA. We’ll start with a guided tour of The Nationality Rooms located inside The Cathedral of Learning at The University of Pittsburgh. The rooms were designed to represent the culture of various ethnic groups that settled in Allegheny County.
After our guided tour, we’ll head over to The Grand Concourse Restaurant for our late lunch/early dinner. Housed in the beautifully preserved Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station, the Grand Concourse Restaurant at Station Square is a true testament of grandeur and elegant dining. With a cathedral stained-glass vaulted ceiling, marble columns, and a grand staircase, we will be quickly transported to the glamorous side of the Progressive Era with the luxury of a modern day menu.
Once we’ve finished our delicious meal, we’ll walk across the street and take a ride on the Monongahela Incline. This incline was built before the turn of the century and opened May 28, 1870. Today, the incline is more than a tourist attraction, it is the best way for commuters on Mt. Washington to get to work. Enjoy the ride and the breathtaking view of the city!
Finally we will visit The Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens for their evening Holiday Light Show. The “Phipps” was founded in 1893 as a gift from real-estate magnate Henry Phipps to the city of Pittsburgh. Explore the beauty and wonders of nature inside the 14-room glasshouse with a stunning seasonal flower and plant show decorated for the Holiday Season.
