Day Two
Christmas Shows & More!
There is nothing like a backstage tour at the Grand Ole Opry House; it is a must see for everyone in Music City! Walk in the footsteps of country music’s superstars and get an exclusive look at what happens Behind the Scenes of the show that made country music famous. In true Tennessee style, the down-home show band of pickers, fiddlers, and singers will be performing heart-warming versions of Christmas favorites by Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Elvis Presley, Rascal Flatts, and More! This hit holiday show explores the many musical styles that make Christmas in Tennessee so special, from country to gospel to bluegrass to rhythm and Blues. Next enjoy a lunch and show aboard the General Jackson Show Boat. This is a salute to the most wonderful time of the year with a Country Tennessee Christmas Spectacular!
This evening we head to Opry Mills with a $25 gift card for dinner on own and some last-minute Christmas Shopping before our performance of the Grand Ole Opry Country Christmas Show at the Grand Ole Opry House.
Nothing says “Country Christmas” like a night at the Grand Ole Opry Christmas show. What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today an entertainment phenomenon showcasing a mix of country music greats– new stars, superstars, and legends. Known around the world as “the show that made country music famous,” you can count on things happening at the Opry that you just can’t see anywhere else. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day Three
Nashville Touring
After breakfast we are off to the Hermitage. The holidays are a special time at the home of the 7th President. The Hermitage is considered to be the most accurately preserved early Presidential home in the country! Enjoy your normal visit to the Hermitage with a special holiday spirit! Throughout the season,
costumed staff will share additional stories of holiday traditions and celebrations while showcasing the added Christmas greenery and gifts spread throughout the Mansion. Guests will also receive an interpreter-led tour of the grounds, cabins, gardens and tombs of President Andrew Jackson and his wife, Rachel.
Next some Christmas shopping time is in order. Broadway is the heart of Nashville. With eats and entertainment for all ages, Fifth + Broadway is changing the way Nashville lives, works, and plays. Enjoy premier shopping & ridiculously good food at Ariat, Free People, Boqueria, Cava, Hattie B’s, Shake Shack, Slim and Husky’s and a wonderful food court all while taking in the downtown views.
This afternoon we visit the “Mother Church of Country Music”, The Ryman Auditorium. Your visit to this famous National Historic Landmark begins with “Soul of Nashville”, a state-of -the-art theatre experience that puts you in the center of the Ryman’s fascinating history as more than a century of legendary performance come to life all around you. Next enjoy five new exhibits where you can peruse genuine artifacts as video hosts Charles Esten (He played “Deacon” on the show Nashville), Marty Stuart, Nicole Kidman, Ricky Skaggs, Robin Roberts and Trisha Yearwood take you through each chapter of the Ryman’s illustrious history.
We finish our day of touring with a visit to the famous Goo Goo Candy Shop. Invented in 1912 in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company right in Nashville, the Goo Goo cluster is the world’s first combination candy bar. The unique confection is a roundish mound of caramel, marshmallow nougat, fresh roasted peanuts and real milk chocolate.
Tonight’s farewell Dinner and Christmas show will be in the Tennessee Ballroom back in the Opryland Hotel. (Breakfast & Dinner)
