Day One

This afternoon we visit a natural wonder called the “Natural Bridge” which greets you by towering limestone arches framed by a backdrop of crimson, gold, and amber leaves. The crisp fall air and the tranquil Cedar Creek make the bridge feel like an enchanted place. A walk along the trails offers panoramic views of the surrounding fall colors. Next, settle in at the Natural Bridge Hotel, where old-world charm meets modern comfort. With views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the hotel is surrounded by the season’s stunning colors. A leisurely dinner at the hotel’s restaurant pairs perfectly with Virginia wine and local fare, completing a relaxing evening. (Dinner)

Day Two

Thomas Jefferson’s estate is captivating any time of year, but during fall, Monticello is enveloped by fiery reds and golds. Touring the house and grounds gives insight into Jefferson’s life, while the gardens, vineyards, and orchards are particularly lovely with autumn’s hues. Strolling along the grounds, you’ll find yourself surrounded by grand trees whose leaves rustle in the fall breeze, with views of the gently rolling hills beyond. After our box lunch and a tour of “James Monroe Highlands” we visit the “Carter Mountain Farm and Orchard” and finish our day with wine tasting and dinner at the “Eastwood Farm & Winery”. (Breakfast, Box Lunch & Dinner)

Day Three

Today we visit Lexington, Virginia, which offers a fascinating dive into history and equestrian culture. We begin at the “Jackson House Museum”, the former home of General Stonewall Jackson, where rooms capture the details of his daily life with authentic period furnishings. Nearby, the “Washington & Lee University Chapel” combines solemn beauty with history, housing Robert E. Lee’s tomb and unique artifacts. Just a short walk away, the “Virginia Military Institute” (VMI) opens up its storied campus, inviting us to explore its military museum, cadet life, and grand architecture. Last, we wrap up our day at the Virginia Horse Center, where expansive arenas host equestrian events showcasing skilled riders and majestic horses. With a blend of historic sites and the thrilling energy of Lexington’s equestrian scene, this tour captures the charm and legacy of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley in an unforgettable way. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day Four

Before departing for home, we will visit the “National D-Day Memorial” which is a powerful and moving experience. Located against the scenic backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the memorial honors the courage and sacrifice of the Allied forces on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Thoughtful and respectfully designed, the D-Day Memorial provides a space for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude, making it a profoundly impactful stop for history enthusiasts and all who visit.
