Your Itinerary
Day One
Depart New Philadelphia, Ohio for Miller Ferry arriving on Put-In-Bay Island for a fun filled day of adventure. Guests will take a one hour narrated tram ride around the island with guide before they will have time to explore on their own, have lunch at one of the many wonder restaurants, do some more sightseeing and shopping.
After our island exploration, will are back on the mainland where we will travel on to the beautiful Twin Oast Brewery for a refreshing beverage and a pizza buffet dinner before departing to our hotel for the night, the Hampton Inn in Toledo.
Day Two
This morning after a breakfast at the hotel we will have another day of adventure and fun. The day begins with a visit to historic Fort Meigs where the fate of a young America was determined with a 10-day battle against the British during the War of 1812.
After our step back into time at Fort Meigs, we will take a visit along the riverfront in Toledo where guests will enjoy a lunch on their own before we board the Sandpiper to cruise on the Maumee River taking the views of Toledo.
Following our relaxing river cruise, we invite our guests to come explore the history of the world’s greatest natural resource; from the canoes and schooners to early steamers and freighters which plied the mighty Maumee River, a visit to the National Museum of the Great Lakes will enlighten your group on the importance of this fascinating region of America. This museum reveals the captivating history of the Great Lakes, which makes up 84% of all the fresh water in North America.
Capping off the day, guests will have dinner at the Maumee Bay Brewery. Established in 1995, the Maumee Bay Brewing Co. is Toledo’s original craft brewery. Located in the 100 years old Oliver House, tasty beers and ciders are made in their copper brewhouse on display in the main area of the brewpub.
