Your Itinerary
Day One
Welcome to Sacramento, California’s historic capital. Explore Old Sacramento State Historic Park and enjoy lunch, shopping, and an optional visit to the renowned California State Railroad Museum. Your hotel is centrally located near restaurants, and the day ends with a welcome dinner. (D)
Day Two
After breakfast, travel to Fairfield to tour the famous Jelly Belly Factory, once a favorite of President Reagan. Then continue to Napa Valley for lunch and a visit to a local winery for a tour and tasting. Return to Sacramento in the evening. (B,L)
Day Three
Begin the day with a tour of Sacramento, including Sutter’s Fort, the state capitol, and the historic R Street Corridor. Then head south for a visit to Hilmar Cheese Factory to enjoy interactive exhibits and a sweet treat. End the day in the Sierra Nevada with riverside accommodations near Yosemite National Park. (B)
Day Four
Take in the awe-inspiring beauty of Yosemite Valley on a ranger-guided tour featuring landmarks like El Capitan, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls. Spend the afternoon exploring Yosemite Village at your own pace, with options to visit the museum, art center, and visitor center. Return to the hotel at your leisure, with time to relax by the river or explore more of the park. (B)
Day Five
Depart El Portal and journey toward the coast, with a stop at Casa de Fruta and a visit to the historic San Juan Bautista Mission and State Historic Park. Enjoy an included lunch near the town square before continuing to the scenic seaside city of Monterey. Settle into your hotel near Cannery Row and enjoy free time for dinner and exploring the waterfront. (B,L)
Day Six
Start your day with a guided tour of the scenic Monterey Peninsula, highlighting Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach’s 17-Mile Drive, and charming Carmel-by-the-Sea. Spend the afternoon exploring on your own with time for lunch, shopping, or an optional visit to the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium. This evening, enjoy an included dinner with waterfront views on Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf. (B,D)
Day Seven
Travel north along Monterey Bay to Roaring Camp, where a scenic train ride through towering coastal redwoods is followed by a BBQ lunch and time to explore the shops. Continue east to San Jose for a visit to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, featuring thousands of artifacts and a life-sized replica tomb. The day ends with an overnight stay near San Francisco International Airport.
Day Eight
Transfer to San Francisco International Airport for your return flight home.
