Day One
We begin our day with a journey to the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, where history comes alive through a powerful film presentation, the breathtaking Cyclorama painting, and a walk through the museum’s compelling exhibits that set the stage for our exploration of the battlefield tomorrow. After immersing ourselves in this pivotal chapter of American history, we’ll head out and check into the Hotel Gettysburg, a charming and historic property located right on Lincoln Square, offering modern comforts in an atmosphere rich with Civil War heritage. Our evening concludes with the Lincoln Buffet, served in the elegant Stevens Room of the hotel, an ideal setting to unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences. Rest well, more adventures await tomorrow! (Dinner)
Day Two
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before returning to the Gettysburg Visitor Center for a guided battlefield tour, where pivotal moments of the Civil War unfolded—stand atop Little Round Top, walk the rocky ground of Devil’s Den, and see the site of Pickett’s Charge. Travel to Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, where lunch awaits at a local eatery before a guided walking tour of this strategically vital town, where John Brown’s raid foreshadowed a nation divided. Enjoy time on your own exploring the Appalachian Trail, crossing the Potomac River on a scenic footbridge into Maryland, or simply soaking in the views where rivers and history converge. Return to Gettysburg for dinner at the historic Dobbin House Tavern, dating back to 1776, before turning in for the night with stories echoing louder than the cannons. (Breakfast, lunch dinner)
Day Three
After breakfast at the hotel, journey to the charming town of Lititz, PA, where free time invites you to indulge in lunch on your own and explore the boutique-lined streets, brimming with small-town warmth and one-of-a-kind finds. Then gather at The Barnyard Studio for a captivating Chalk Talk by Elva Hurst, whose vivid chalk artistry and heartfelt storytelling bring Lancaster County ’s rural heritage to life in a way that stirs the soul. As the afternoon unfolds, head to Mount Hope Estate & Winery, a historic manor where you’ll enjoy a tasting, dinner, and lively entertainment in a setting steeped in 19th-century grandeur. Return to the hotel with your heart full, your palate pleased, and your imagination still glowing with color. (Breakfast, dinner)
Day Four
After breakfast and check-out, the day begins at the Seminary Ridge Museum, where three immersive floors of the “Voices of Duty and Devotion” exhibit reveal gripping stories of faith, sacrifice, and the human cost of war. Walk the same halls that once served as a Civil War field hospital, then step outside to explore a mile-long trail lined with markers that echo with history. The journey culminates with a guided tour of the Cupola, where Union General Buford surveyed the battlefield and set the stage for the first day’s clash. Enjoy a farewell luncheon on-site before departing for New Philadelphia, your heart stirred, your mind enriched, and your spirit marching on. (Breakfast, lunch)
