NYC, It’s A Wonderful Town

Day One: Sun. Oct. 6, 2024

This morning we will depart and make our way east to The Big Apple, New York City!  This afternoon we will check into the Hotel Edison, where we will be spending three nights. Dinner vouchers are included for a restaurant of your choosing. (Dinner)

Day Two: Mon. Oct. 7, 2024

This morning we will cruise from Battery Park to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island where we can see the original torch that lady liberty held and tour the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum. Next, we experience the 9/11 Memorial and Museum and learn about the history of the 9/11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing at the site where the Twin Towers once stood. You may also want to visit the nearby Oculus which is home to 12 subway lines, the PATH station, and dozens of high-end retailers.  It is one of New York’s newest architectural gems.  Dinner tonight is a true NY Italian experience at Tony DiNapoli’s. Day Three: Tues. Oct. 8, 2024

Start the day with “Bagels, Breakfast, and Broadway” a very intimate experience with an artist from Broadway who will come and sing songs LIVE with an accompanist.  The artist will then be interviewed by a Broadway Plus moderator who will ask them questions about their career and then take questions from the audience.  Following our Broadway Breakfast, it’s Rockefeller Center where you can spend time exploring the area and see where the skating rink is located and Prometheus, (a 1934 gilded, cast bronze sculpture) located above the lower plaza at Rockefeller Center.  Some people may wander into The Shop at NBC studios, your one stop shop for all things NBC. For those who don’t mind heights we will visit the “Top of the Rock” where you will see the best NYC view from 70 floors up. Three levels of indoor and outdoor observation decks deliver spectacular, unobstructed views of the city skyline.  The panoramic sights make it the ultimate observation deck in NYC.

Radio City Music Hall is next followed by dinner at Connolly’s Pub & Restaurant. The Music Hall features a “Behind the Scenes Tour” where you will explore the history and beauty of Radio City. Discover art deco masterpieces including the palatial 60-ft high Grand Foyer and visit Radio City’s secret apartment, The Roxy Suite.  We will get exclusive views of the majestic auditorium and learn the history of the iconic Great Stage.  Complete the tour by meeting a Radio City Rockette! 

After our dinner take in a Broadway Show.  We will pick from a choice of three different shows, which will be announced this summer.  Shows could be:  Back to the Future, Wicked, Lion King plus a few others.   Show times generally start at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 pm.  At the end of the show, we will make our way back to the Edison Hotel by walking or getting an Uber or Taxi.  The hotel is within walking distance of Broadway.  (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day Four – Wed. Oct. 9, 2024

After breakfast we take a Manhattan City Tour with our local guide culminating at grand Central Terminal. Departing the city in the early afternoon we arrive in Allentown, PA for a visit to a spectacular new museum, “America on Wheels”. This gorgeous museum, housed in a large, modern building officially opened to the public in 2008. Since then, the America on Wheels Museum has been living up to its mission and educating visitors about the history of the automobile in America. The Museum houses everything from a bicycle from 1885 to a Prius from 2011, and nearly everything in between. Dinner tonight will be at the local Panera Bread. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day Five – Thurs. Oct. 10, 2024

After breakfast we will depart for home with amazing memories memories of the BIG APPLE.
